I can't believe I'm not pregnant anymore. 10 months did fly by, but also didn't. Some days, especially towards the end, I was convinced I would just be pregnant for the rest of my life. Now we are in the thick of parenthood and love every minute of it. Wine and coffee are the key to survival those first few weeks.
When I first got pregnant, my skin went freaking crazy. I have always had relatively clear skin, but I instantly had TONS of zits. The things that had worked for me in the past no longer cut it. I also couldn't imagine using harsh chemicals on my skin anymore. Even though it's not a high percentage, your skin absorbs everything you put on it, which has the potential of effecting your little one.
Here's a list of all the "clean" products I used in pregnancy and I can't recommend the switch enough!
Mama Mio: I would consider this line the holy grail of pregnancy products. They have everything you could need, from stretch mark cream to face wash, this stuff is amazing and everything smells wonderful. I used the Gorgeous Glow 3-Step Set which comes with a face wash, eye cream and facial moisturizer. I am a faithful follower of a 3 step system day and night, so this was the perfect change over. It is specifically designed for sensitive and hormonal skin. This set will run you around $50. The Dermstore carries most Mama Mio products, but I got my Gorgeous Glow set from Bath and Unwind. Check out this site for tons of Mama & Baby safe products.
Organic Fields of Heather Egyptian Jasmine Facial Cream: This stuff is my jam. I do not even know how I came across this brand but I absolutely love it AND it's only $6.99 on Amazon. They create a variety of products used with natural oils that are free of parabens, sulfates, dyes or harmful chemicals. This facial cream is thick and creamy, but not heavy and smells SO good.
John Master's Organics: Can't forget about your mop! I wanted to find Shampoo & Conditioner without a ton of chemicals that also smelled good. This fit the bill! I used the Lavender and Rosemary Shampoo for Normal Hair and the Citrus and Neroli Conditioner Dangler Conditioner. These run around $16 each and will last you quite a while. Check out the John Master's section on Dermstore, they have everything you can think of! Also great for little kiddos.
I'm so glad I found these products, and I can't recommend them enough! Also, to all you new mamas, I have a life saver: those tired dark circles need love, try Skinfood Salmon Dark Eye Concealer. You can thank me later.
