I have always been a big fan of babywearing. From day one of motherhood, it has just always seemed easier to bop around with the baby attached. Running the vacuum, grocery shopping or going out to eat were always done while wearing my babe. We have used the Moby Wrap, The Solly Baby Wrap, The Ergo, and now-- our newest favorite as my babe has grown is the Wild Bird Sling.
I never saw the point of a sling while my little was teeny-tiny because I loved my wraps and mastered how to use them. Now that my kiddo is giant- I decided to try out a sling. I am totally hooked! I will definitely be trying out the sling next time I have a newborn as well.
I was blessed with an incredibly active little guy who REFUSES to hold on while being carried. It's like, oh I'm sorry I wasn't aware that you are a King and I am your servant expected to cart you from place to place while you just lounge?! I seriously cannot carry anything in my hands BUT my kid because it requires both hands. Coffee? Forget it. Car keys? He holds them if I'm lucky. Enter SLING! I can pop Fox on my hip, strap him in AND carry my coffee!!! It's amazing having hands again.
Let's also talk about how cute the sling looks? I mean, Tayler Golden (the creator) nailed it on style and functionality. There are so many cute patterns & colors and you even get to chose the ring color. I obviously went with the rose gold ring because, duh. I also love that you can make it look more masculine buy wrapping the tail around the ring (see here) so you don't see the rose gold.
If you are looking for a gift or simply wanting to use your hands again while momming (or dadding or nannying or whatever-ing) be sure to grab yourself a Wild Bird sling.
