A diaper bag is a BIG deal. I never knew this before having a baby (add that to the list of "things I didn't know before having a kid"). I knew it was a big deal in the sense of carrying important baby stuff with you everywhere, but I didn't realize just how much stuff you need or how handy these bags can be.
I originally started out with the Tote Savvy Mini and truthfully, I don't have enough good things to say about it. These cute and functional inserts transform any purse or bag into a diaper bag which is pretty amazing. I put mine in my Madewell Transport Satchel and loved that I didn't have to go from carrying a designer purse to carrying a total mom bag. I still felt hip in my new phase of life.
The only reason I started to look for other options was because of traveling. Phil & I travel A LOT with Fox. Do you know how much crap you need to lug when you travel with a baby?! Oh. My. Gosh. It's a lot. I started to realize that my little Madewell tote was just not cutting it for the amount of stuff I needed.
On top of that, I spent a lot of time carrying Fox in a baby carrier. Trying to sling a diaper bag over your shoulder with a carrier taking up most of the shoulder space is always a disaster. I think the final straw was when I was at a wine tasting at Whole Foods-- I was carrying Fox in an Ergo and I had a glass of RED wine in my hand. My bag slipped off of my shoulder resulting in the wine flying out of my glass and soaking both Fox & me. I looked like a super responsible mom at least, so there was that.
Enter Fawn Design. This beautiful, stylish and super functional bag is THE best. It is huge and has space for all of the things I need, especially when traveling. It can be worn as a backpack (which is what really sold me) as well as a shoulder bag. I love being able to throw this on my back for walks to lunch, or carrying the carseat out to the car (because that is awkward enough). It is perfect for being able to hold your baby without your bag falling off of your shoulder. The best part? I get tons of compliments on it. I have heard tons of people say "I want that as a bag & I don't even have a baby!" It's the best. Seriously. What else can I say? I am in love with my diaper bag. I really really am.
**UPDATE: Fawn Design also just recently came out with MINI'S! So if this bag looks like it may be too big for your needs, check out the new Mini bags as well- they are just as lovely**
