Long story short, we removed a kitchen, exposed some brick walls, strangled each other a few times, cutout ceilings to add can lighting, removed and replaced the trim, kissed a lot, painted a lot, blah blah blah. That is all of the boring stuff that no one really cares about. Luckily we have the best friends in the entire world who saved us a few times with warm mimosas and gas station wine.
Just recently came the fun part-- putting all of the shit I have been hoarding for the last 8 months into the house. From the day we decided to take on this project, I have been hunting down items from ebay, craigslist, etsy, and any antique store I pass by. Now that we are finally moved it and I have this big blank canvas, decorating consumes my mind ALL. DAY. LONG.
This house has been one of the most rewarding and exhausting things I have ever done. It has taught me to have patience and to trust my husband. I have loved filling it with things that are special to us...a dresser that was built by my great grandfather, a blown up polaroid picture that my dad took while he was serving in Vietnam, and plenty of things we have designed and built together. I cannot wait to fill it with babies...but until then, fraternity style parties it is.
